We are human beings, not human doings. We need to rest and recharge our physical, mental and spirital batteries. If not, we find ourselves feeling rundown, cranky and ill at ease. We need to learn to listen to our bodies. When I was a teenager, I could stay up all night. Now I find that I need a certain amount of rest and quiet time to be able to channel people's loved ones and to give of myself in a way that's productive and not detrimental to my wellbeing. I need to fill my own cup before I can give from the overflow.
In doing the work of a spiritual medium, intuitive, and mentor, I find that paying attention to my own body's messages is essential. I can't teach what I don't practice myself. In order to be effective and to help other people, I need to keep my physical, mental and spiritual energy balanced. This means eating in a reasonably healthy manner, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. I also need down time, which includes socializing with friends as well as spending time alone.
Life is busy for everyone. We have to find time to take care of ourselves or we won't be able to be effective in our own lives, whether that includes having a healthy relationship, taking care of children, or being a good employee or business owner. What it comes down to is balance. Everyone is different. Find out what works for you and stay consistent. You will improve the quality of your life and maybe even influence someone else in a positive way.
